FAQ
Straight answers.
The same figures are used on the pricing page, at checkout, and in the draft terms.
How much does a website cost?
Starter is £29.99 a month, Business is £49.99, and Growth is £99. Those prices exclude VAT. VAT at 20% is added at checkout for UK customers.
Is there a minimum term?
You choose at checkout. 12-month minimum, paid monthly, with no setup fee. This is the default. You can give notice to end on the last day of that minimum. During the 12 months you can buy the design files for £299 excluding VAT. The monthly fee still runs until the minimum ends. Or: Pay yearly upfront at 10 times the monthly price, so two months are included, with no setup fee. The payment covers 12 months and renews yearly unless you give 30 days' notice before it renews. A buy-out does not apply. The design files transfer if you leave at the end of a paid year. Or: Monthly billing with a £49 setup fee excluding VAT and a 3-month minimum. During those 3 months you can buy the design files for £299 excluding VAT, and the monthly fee still runs until the minimum ends. After the 3 months, give 30 days' notice. The design files then transfer when you leave, with no further buy-out. Each option is written out in full so the term on the page is the term in the contract.
Do I own the website?
The domain is registered in your name from the start. We are the technical contact, not the registrant. The first year of a .co.uk, .uk or .com is included when it costs no more than £15, and renewals stay included while you subscribe. You own your text, photos and logo at all times. The design and the site files are licensed to you while you subscribe. When the plan ends we send an export pack and domain release instructions. During a 12-month minimum, or during the 3-month minimum on monthly billing, you can buy the files for £299 excluding VAT. That buy-out does not refund the remaining fees. After a minimum ends, and when a year paid upfront comes to an end, the files transfer when you leave.
Who is the contract for?
Checkout asks you to confirm that you are buying for a business. These terms are written for business customers. Business contracts do not include the statutory 14-day cooling-off period that can apply to consumers. If you are buying as a private individual, email us before you pay. Consumer subscription rules are also due to change from 1 January 2027. A solicitor should confirm how that affects any sale to a consumer.
What is in the Growth plan?
Growth is the Business website plus Vouchsmith review requests, Google Business Profile care, and a monthly email report, for £99 a month excluding VAT. Vouchsmith is set up to ask every customer. We do not ask only the people likely to leave a complimentary review, and we do not offer a reward for a review. You must own the Google profile. We are added as a manager.
What happens if a payment fails?
If a payment fails we email you on the day, again after 3 days, and again after 7 days, with a link to update the payment method. If the invoice is still unpaid after 14 days, the website is replaced with a holding page until the account is brought up to date.
How many edits are included?
Starter includes 1 edit request a month, Business includes 2, and Growth includes 4. One request is one brief, such as a text change or swapping an image. A person checks it before it is published. A new page, a shop, or a redesign is quoted separately.
How long until the site is live?
The aim is five working days after you finish the setup form. A domain transfer takes longer because you have to approve it at your registrar. The site is not published until we have checked it and you have approved the draft.
Will you invent reviews or a CQC rating?
No. Reviews, star ratings, years trading, staff numbers and accreditations are left out unless you supply them and we can see the source. On a care site, the CQC rating is shown only when you give us the rating CQC has published. In England, a provider has to display that rating within 21 days of CQC publishing it.
Can you email my business?
Limited companies and LLPs can be emailed about this service if every message says who it is from and includes an opt-out. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships are not emailed unless we hold a record of their consent. If we are not sure, we treat the contact as an individual. Partner introductions are tagged as partner referrals. Postal letters are a separate channel and are not sent by this software.
Is a domain included?
The first year of a .co.uk, .uk or .com is included when the wholesale cost is within £15. It is registered in your name. For a .uk name we record whether the registrant is an individual or a UK limited company, and the company number when it is a company. A pricier name is not registered until you agree. Renewals stay included while you subscribe. If you already own the domain, you can transfer it with an auth code or keep it where it is and point the DNS.
What if I do not have a logo?
Business and Growth include a brand kit: three options, each with a wordmark, a colour palette and a Google font pairing. On Starter the same kit is £49 excluding VAT, once. Check the name and the logo are not already in use. The kit is not a trade mark registration, and we do not claim one.
What is the buy-out fee?
During a 12-month minimum, or during the 3-month minimum on monthly billing, the design and site files can be bought for £299 excluding VAT. The fee for that period still runs until the minimum ends. After a minimum ends, the files transfer when you leave. A year paid upfront has no buy-out: the files transfer at the end of the paid year. Giving notice after a minimum, or before a yearly renewal, is 30 days.
